jobs4scientists.com is a site for
worldwide scientists jobs. You can post a resume or
a small job advertisement (for $9.99 for 60 days). If you
are an employer, you can also post your
job vacancies on these pages. With research and development becoming increasingly globalized, the job markets for scientists follows this. But expanding your career as a scientists with an an overseas career move, should be well planned and you should integrate your geographical wants, your financial needs and your talents with the global needs.
Custom Search
Look for countries with strong economies and high levels of investment into R&D. such as Switzerland, United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Finland and Sweden. Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain, are nice countries to live in, but the market for scientists may already be saturated with local candidates. Your knowledge of languages may also be an important consideration. It is generally easy to get a job in Switzerland, the UK and Scandinavia if you only know English. But Germany without German is almost an impossibility, as is France without French. And don't think that American High School, or even College level knowledge of the language, will be enough: It is not! Therefore keep your search within the parameters of your knowledge and skills. Apart from Europe, India, China and Japan are also keen to attract international talent into their countries. Researchers with a PhD and five years post-graduate training will do well on their job search there. There is a high demand for the more experienced researchers in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. Japan is keen to enlarge their medical device industry and the governments, as well as private industry, in both China and India are trying to expand their contract sector in scientific research. Worldwide investment in R&D and manufacturing has globalized the job market for mid- and upper-level scientists. By showing off their specialized skills, international experience and language abilities, those eager to work and live overseas can turn their dream into reality. A sample of available jobs in Switzerland, France and the UK is shown below. The links to the job descriptions work.
This is only a small excerpt of, mainly, biologists jobs. There is also a good site called jobcrawler.org that carries many scientists jobs. If you need help with writing your resume or Curriculum Vitae, proceed to http://www.jobs4work.com/resume1.htm . |
